Too busy to care

COVID took a million plus within the USA
Does anyone remember them? It's sad I have to say
But even with this loss of life and if we look real square
America's just too busy, much too busy to ever care

And do we care about the docs who took care of the sicker?
Not really all we care about's that the richer are getting richer
So too those who've worked so very hard to save so many dreams
It's done move on oh come along it's onto the next thing

For those who joined the army and fought in all our wars
The battered and the beaten who come home with all their sores
If you think that coming home you'll find folks grateful for your dare
I sadly have to tell you won't - because America's too busy to even care

The kids who had nutritious food all thanks to the child tax credit
We're far too busy don't you know for us to even sweat it.
The immigrants who need some help in raising their native kids
You are a burden on us and so I'm sorry but we much rid
Us of you even though we know you've never done a wrong
But we are just too busy - move along now move along

The Power of Tea

My tea is mighty
Ur tea is dirty
Her tea is flirty
His tea is misty

No tea is naughty
Some tea haughty
All tea is malty
Sea tea is salty

... And so on, and so forth... to infini-tea

The dance of the waves

As a wave stands at its tallest height about to crash with all its might

The essence of its being

A dance begins unlike any other absent a center, and without a rudder

Predictable and unpredictable at the same time

Water rushing over high powered by sunny sky

But in the end condemned to die

A Juggernaut no it is not but there’s a lesson to be taught

That which opposes power risks being crushed

The hanger fight

When the clothes are washed and dried the last step is the worst

The clothing must be hung but here I find that I've been cursed

I try to grab one hanger but get four or five instead

Which simply won't detangle 'less I bang them on my head

The metal ones array themselves against me like a phalanx

If only 'twas a magic word that would make them break ranks

I grab a shirt and shake it out and lay it on the table

But no matter how I try to fold I simply am not able

And just for once I'd like to skip adventures in the "laundrins"

I'm ready for a spoon of sugar from that woman Mary Poppins

Sing me a song

Sing me a song not to short not to long; I'm dying to hear your voice.

Whatever you sing me it cannot be wrong; I'll be happy, not matter your choice.

Speak out a rhyme it need not be sublime; whatever you sing will be ours.

Please hold me close for a moment in time; Just you and me in the days waning hours.

Let us stay still pretend we're in Brazil and time isn't moving at all.

Please stay with me darling stay right here until... 'til in dreamland I ... I ... (zzzzz)

I am so excited to go back to school!

The fall means going back to school and boy am I excited!
So excited because that means we need fireworks ignited!
And after that we'll leave the cat and go see dear Aunt May.
Then would be the perfect time to hit the beaches in en jay (NJ)
And then how 'bout a baseball game to celebrate the end?
And on the way back home can we see Billy 'round the bend?
Then back to school! - Oh no, I forgot! I need a film on Camelot!
And finally just one thing left to do...
I need a trip to Timbuktu!

I'm so excited to return to school!

The "It's not fair" doom spiral

Nothing's ever fair - when you're in a tiff.
There's nothing I can do for you - when you're hanging off that cliff.
When you are so excitedly - yelling all you can at me
Of course it isn't fair.

It's never ever enough I know - When I say "It's time to go"
And you go ballistic through the roof!
"Just one more" you'll plead and say - "Just one more ONE MORE today!!!"
And I say "no" and pretend to be whining-proof.

And then we both are frustrated - and all the fun is deflated.
And one of us must go on a time out.
I like to give you things you like - I like to let you ride your bike.
But when it's over you always seem to want to scream and shout!

I am old and you are young - and there's nothing can be done.
I wish there was a way for you to see.
It's not fair that I am old - and you must listen when you're told.
It's just not fair how could it ever be?
