Imperfections make a Home

 Some people ask the question
What makes a house a home?
And here is my suggestion
It's where imperfection roams

The lights that will not light up
The fridge that will not chill
It can drive your right to madness
But that's kinda just the drill

Your mother isn't perfect
And neither is your dad
But together in imperfection
You find it's really not so bad

Your washing all the dishes
'Cause the dishwasher won't wash
And despite all of your wishes
What you have is what you've got

And that time you had to run away
'Cause you set the oven on fire?
These are the times that always stay
And never ever expire

You bless the annoying brother
And bless the all-knowing sis
You may wish that it was other
But the truth is this is bliss.
